Shetland: 60° north

The UK’s most northerly islands are a mixture of wild beauty and rich culture, peaceful and vibrant simultaneously.

The archipelago consists of around 100 islands, 16 of which are inhabited, located 200 miles north of Aberdeen in the North Sea.

At this latitude, in the summer, Shetland enjoys almost 24hrs of daylight, while in winter, the uninterrupted night skies make for some truly spectacular star spotting. The landscape, some of it billions of years old, has been awarded UNESCO Global Geopark status, while its wildlife is unparalleled.
